Anne (Anna) Eha Tenacious Longridge née Watkinson was born on 2 January 1943 in Rothsay, Scotland. Her father, John Leslie Watkinson, was a Lt. Commander in the Royal Navy, and her mother was Leida Elfrieda Watkinson née Loonik. She is also the great great grandaughter on her paternal line of John Foulkes Roberts (1818-1902), Lord Mayor of Manchester. Coming from a naval family, she was baptised on the HMS Tenacious, hence her middle name. Her mother, Leida Elfrieda Watkinson (Loonik), was born and raised in Estonia. She moved to England in 1939 to study at Cambridge while also escaping from the war. She married John Watkinson. Anna Longridge attended The Royal School Haslemere for daughters of Royal Naval Officers. There, she met Lord Mountbatten.
Anna, she attended art school in France inspired to become an artist. She married David John Ernle Longridge on 12 September 1970. She is a renowned painter known for her oils and watercolours of north Wiltshire, Egypt, India, etc., having travelled across the world many times throughout her life. She is also known for her paintings of the Beufort Hunt and local polo club. One of her works was displayed in the National Gallery in London.
