Anna Cabot Quincy Waterston (1812-1899)

Mrs Anna Cabot (Quincy) Waterston; Writer, Poet, Novelist & Diarist

She prepared a biography of her grandfather, Memoir of the Life of Josiah Quincy, Jun., that was published under her father's name in 1825. She and three of her sisters, Margaret, Abigail, and Maria - who epitomized nineteenth-century New England women of gentle birth - were dubbed "The Articulate Sisters," by their biographer, M. A. DeWolfe Howe. She died at her home, 526 Massachusetts Avenue, Newton, Massachusetts, having survived her husband and both her children (listed).
