Andrew Paton Holt (1893-1964)
Major Andrew Paton Holt, of 40 North Audley Street, London
He was born in Montreal and completed his education at the Royal Military College, Kingston. In 1915, he was commissioned into the 1st Grenadier Guards of Canada. He "suffered under the service (seen) at the front" and after the war (1918) was appointed secretary to Lord Beaverbrook's cinematograph department. Beaverbrook tried - and failed - to secure him a knighthood. He died unmarried.
