Amelia Martha Bowman (1805-1898)

She was born in London and was married to William Christie in 1835 at Christ Church Cathedral, Montreal. He died ten years later and as per the conditions of their marriage settlement she received £4,200, the Manoir Christie, the Seigneury of Bleury, and the domains of Léry and Lacolle. At some time she moved to England and from at least 1871 up until her death she was living at 9 Cavendish Crescent in Bath with two servants and her adopted daughter, Hannah Anne Johnstone (1842-1908).
