Allan Cassels (1847-1909)
Barrister-at-Law, of Toronto
He was one of the fourteen children of Robert Cassels, a native of Leith in Scotland who became a successful banker in England before furthering his business in Canada. Among his brothers, Allan counted Sir Walter Gibson Pringle Cassels K.C., Hamilton Cassels K.C., and Richard Scougall Cassels, Q.C. In 1885, he married Maude, daughter of George William Allan of Moss Park. They lived at 7 Wellesley Place, Toronto, and were the parents of one daughter, Emmie.
