Abram Piatt Andrew (1873-1936)
A. Piatt Andrew, U.S. Congressman from Massachusetts & Professor of Economics
He was born at La Porte, Indiana, and was known as "A.P.A.". During WWI, he founded the American Ambulance Field Service. Later, he became a respected economist at Harvard University a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Massachusetts, and Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Treasury. He is also remembered for building Red Roof his elaborately decorated cottage at Gloucester. He was unmarried.
