Abraham Richards (1772-1849)

of A. & S. Richards & Co., Merchants, of Savannah, Liverpool & New York

He and his brother, Silas, operated a large international mercantile business that traded between Savannah, Georgia; Liverpool, England; and, New York City. His brother was, "one of the most extensive cotton brokers and shipping merchants of his age. The first packet ship out of New York was named "Silas Richards".
