Aaron Nusbaum/Norman (1859-1936)

Founder of Abacus & Associates, Wealth Investment, New York

He went into business with his brother-in-law, Julius Rosenwald, buying half of Sears Roebuck & Co. from Richard Warren Sears in 1895. Six years later, after a dispute, Rosenwald bought him out for $1.25-million. He took an extended trip to Europe and on his return changed his name to Aaron Norman and never spoke to his sister nor brother-in-law again. In New York, he founded an investment firm, Abacus & Associates, and lived between 630 Park Avenue in New York City and his summer home in Elberon, New Jersey. He married Lottie, daughter of Samson Rosenfield of Chicago, and they were the parents of two children (listed).
