Aaron B. Lockwood (1811-1899)
Aaron B. Lockwood, of Weston & Wilton, Connecticut
He was born at Weston, Connecticut and became a school teacher. He taught in the Wilton district school before moving away (possibly back to Weston) and then returning again in 1850 to open a school in a house at 496 Danbury Road, Wilton. The following year, he moved his school and 16 students into a new house on 14-acres at 43 Cannon Road. In 1857, he sold just over an acre of this property to his new son-in-law, Benjamin F. Brown, who built 33 Cannon Road. Lockwood retired and became a farmer while his school was taken over by Brown and became known as Brown Academy of the B.F. Brown Boarding School.
