Syon House

Brentford, Middlesex

Remodelled in 1769, for Hugh Percy (1714-1786), 1st Duke of Northumberland to the designs of Robert Adam and with parkland laid out by Lancelot "Capability" Brown. The main reception rooms are open to the public and the Conservatory is available as a venue, but it continues to remain the private "London" residence of the present Duke of Northumberland. The interior "frankly inspired" Mallow on Long Island.
