Ockwells Manor

Ockwells Road, Cox Green, Maidenhead, Berkshire

Completed in 1466, for Sir John Norreys (d.1466), M.P., Master of the Wardrobe to King Henry VI and Esquire to the Body of Edward IV. It was described by Sir Nikolaus Pevsner as, "the most refined and most sophisticated timber framed mansion in England" and is one of three manors that inspired Stan Hywet Hall in Ohio.
