Castle Leslie

Built in 1870, for Sir John Leslie (1822-1916) 1st Bt., and his wife Lady Constance (1837-1925). The Scots Baronial castle sits on an estate of 1,000-acres which encompasses three lakes. It was built on the site of an earlier ruined castle. The Leslies were succeeded by their son and daughter-in-law, the exceedingly popular Lady Leonie Leslie, daughter of the "King of Wall Street" and sister of Lady Jennie Churchill, the mother of Sir Winston Churchill. It remains in the Leslie today though the main house is now a luxury hotel (click here). It also incorporates an Equestrian Center etc.
