- Reviewed in the United States on January 13, 2021The theme is exactly what I was looking for. It's also a great read... so far. The quality of the glue/binding is terrible. I'm into the book for a few pages and the pages are already coming apart. Falling apart at the seams (no pun intended). Not happy about it!

- Reviewed in the United States on June 11, 2015Very thorough book about all of the Prohibition era gang activity in St. Louis. You will be overwhelmed by all of the names, dates, and places which might be annoying if you aren't from St. Louis. However, if you grew up in the greater St. Louis area you will certainly recognize many of the street names as well as some of the small towns -- some as much as 50 miles away. The writing style made it easy for me to picture what was happening but maybe some of that might be from watching TV shows like The Untouchable as a child. A couple of things that didn't really surprise me but things the author pointed out that reinforced some of my beliefs: the strong ties the mobsters had to the democrat party and the complete infiltration of the labor unions. Overall I was really glad I took the time to read this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read
This is a very detailed book with a good account of people and events that happened throughout this time period. One of the best true crime books that I have read. Would definitely recommend for people that like this kind of book. 10/10
